Experienced support grounded in personal understanding
Paola Jimenez is the Paralegal Team Lead at Gian-Grasso & Tomczak Immigration Law Group. She joined GTILG as a paralegal in January 2019 and advanced to her current leadership position in February 2023.
With a legal education and more than eight years of experience working in the Dominican Republic, Paola brings valuable insight to the firm’s paralegal team. Her own experience as an immigrant also helps her understand the concerns clients may face as they build their lives in the United States.
Leadership within the paralegal team
As Paralegal Team Lead, Paola supports the attorneys and helps guide the work of GTILG’s paralegal team. Her legal background, attention to detail, and ability to communicate in both English and Spanish contribute to a clear and supportive client experience.
Paola understands that immigration matters often affect a client’s family, stability, and future. She approaches her work with empathy and recognizes the importance of helping clients feel heard throughout the legal process.
Corporate and regulatory legal experience
Before moving to the United States, Paola spent more than eight years working as a junior attorney with Pellerano & Herrera, a law firm in the Dominican Republic. Her work focused primarily on corporate transactions and regulatory matters.

Early experience in public defense
Before joining Pellerano & Herrera, Paola worked as a paralegal with the National Office of Public Defense in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
In that position, she assisted attorneys handling criminal cases and worked closely with individual clients. The role gave her early experience supporting people facing serious legal concerns and strengthened her ability to approach sensitive matters with professionalism and compassion.
Education and legal training
Paola earned her Bachelor of Laws from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2010.
In 2012, she completed a Master in Legal Practice through Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and the Pellerano & Herrera Foundation. Her education, combined with her professional experience, provides a strong foundation for her leadership and client-support responsibilities at GTILG.
Languages and personal background
Paola was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in December 2018. Having experienced immigration personally, she understands that the process can involve uncertainty, difficult decisions, and significant changes for individuals and families.
She uses that perspective to support GTILG’s clients with patience and understanding. Paola is fluent in both Spanish and English.
