The Supreme Court ruled today that the Trump Administration cannot end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) – a program that provides Dreamers with temporary relief from deportation. By renewing their status every two years, Dreamers are given a chance to go to college, work, and support their families in the U.S. “DACA recipients have advanced degrees; they have started businesses; they have bought houses, had children who are U.S. citizens; and 90% have jobs. Indeed, 29,000 are health care professionals, working on the front lines of the COVID-19 response.” https://n.pr/2NbnzoI
The Court, in a 5-4 decision, ruled that the administration violated federal law.
Although the fight isn’t over, the 700,000 Dreamers in this country will be able to continue to work and live in the U.S., the country they call home.
