After all the shouting is done regarding immigration, the supposedly more level headed thinkers often talk about the “value” of certain types of immigrants over others in fashioning a system. Jin Park, recently named a Rhodes Scholar and DACA recipient challenges this premise in this insightful op-ed. To us at GTH, the immigration debate is a question of community, and the recent heavy handed enforcement tactics of the current administration is an assault on our shared community by removing people from it for unconscionable reasons. Ultimately, our fight is about human rights and justice – and to what our nation should aspire.
