Yet another infuriating and abominable example of this administration and the Department of Homeland Security attacking people’s status in this country based on flimsy or non-existent evidence spawned by conspiracy theory. In this context, they are attacking citizenship, but we see it in all levels of the immigration process – capricious demands for evidence already provided, bad faith interpretations of unequivocal evidence and so forth.
Simply put, Customs and Border Protection’s actions in this context are representative of the Administration’s larger disdain for due process. At GTH, we recognize and fight for these due process guarantees that our founder’s recognizned were the individual’s protection from government abuse.
